If gay was straight and straight was gay This definitely deserves a million shares. -Mason
I watched this video and holy cow you guys… please watch it.
I know everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and I’m not saying you should support any views you don’t want to, but just watch this and understand the other side. You can express and voice your opinions; you are allowed to. Everyone has different perspectives and beliefs. But understand that just because you don’t support something, it does not mean you need to express it in aggressive, hateful, and abusive ways in any form. This doesn’t just go for gay rights. This goes for anything; not one person will have every single belief you do or agree with every opinion you have. So why fight so hard for some people to come to your side? What exactly does that even achieve? Someone doesn’t think your favorite color is the best color there is out there? So what, that doesn’t get your panties in a wad, so why should someone’s views on same-sex marriage get some people so wound up? (Or any opinion that is different than yours, for that reason.)
All I can say is that I have friends, and best friends who faced similar struggles as this video displayed, and I know there are so many out there that have extreme cases just as the girl did. It’s not easy for those who are attracted to the same gender. I know there are many different reasons as to one becoming more attracted to the same gender rather than the other; some really are just that way since as long as they can remember, or it could stem from abuse or a tragic event at some point in their life that made them fear a certain gender. No one truly just wakes up one day and goes: hm, I want to be different and get crap for it. No. There are reasons behind everything.
I normally don’t just put my views on this right out there for everyone to see, because I know how extremely controversial this topic is, and I’d rather just keep to myself and let everyone think what they think, but this is my account and for some reason I feel somewhat safe voicing my opinion on my Tumblr. I don’t have many followers, and I keep this account away from the social scene of my classmates at school, so I suppose this is more of a venting post and to just let loose for me. I don’t care if anyone takes the time to read this, or takes the time to notice this, but I guess this is more for me than anyone else.
This video made me cry. Really hard.
Like I said, no one should be swayed into believing or agreeing with something they don’t agree with.
But this video has such a strong message.
If anything, it shows more of the hatred that comes from such a topic as this and I hope maybe someone leaves watching it at least thinking, "I’m going to hate less and love more."
